Jobs at the ESC

The EXCEL Support Center employs about 25 work study and work initiative students per semester, with one year-round UMS Professional Staff. We service about 800 laptops - with the numbers growing each year.
The most important skill the ESC needs is customer service. We need people who can deal with people - help them and care for them. Technical know how is helpful, but knowing what to do with the knowledge you DO have, and applying it in a way that will help others is critical.
There are two positions: Laptop Trainer (Computer Aide 1) and Laptop Technician (Computer Aide 2 or 3). With opportunities to serve people, as well as fix computers (Mac and PC), an employee of the ESC can learn hands-on practical stuff, good computer trivia, how to communicate, and how to supervise others.
